Myth planning began today!

Instead of  'How the giraffe got it's long neck', the children have started to think about which animal they are going to write their myth about.

We have some very imaginative ideas!

The Romans

In topic this week, we've been exploring the spread of the Roman Empire and plotting this on a map.
This helped the class identify the areas the Romans conquered, and see how the boundaries have changed.

We've also started to look at roads!
Why did the Romans want to build roads? Why were they important to them? Where were they?

We will be looking at this more next week!

Volcanoes

The children have been finding out all about volcanoes, how and where they form and sharing any experiences they have of visiting one.

I've been really pleased with their ability to use geographic/scientific vocabulary when describing why volcanoes erupt and what happens...
